FB Foodie Friday - Pasta Alla Ceci

On Monday I wrote a blog post about my amazing friend, Susan, and to prove that she is just that amazing, she shared with me a recipe, Pasta Alla Ceci, that is not only yummy, but costs less than $10 for four people. Despite the fact that this recipe has kale and is good for you, both my hubby and son enjoyed it.Here is what Susan had to say...Everyone knows we should eat more greens, and I am happy to oblige since I love kale and its friends (thank you to my Sicilian mother!). But some people are turned off by the strong flavor.  I like this recipe because it incorporates super healthy vegetables in a way that highlights the taste without being overpowering. It’s quick, easy, delicious and affordable.  Oh yeah, and there is bacon. Here is the cost break down:

  1. $2.29 - 1 bag washed and cut Kale
  2. $3.99 - Thick cut bacon
  3. $0.99 - 1 pound pasta
  4. $0.99 - 1 can garbanzo beans
  5. $0.20 - 1 clove garlic minced
  6. Total - $8.46

Here is the link to the recipe.
