Ready Set Roll

Today is officially the last day of summer and tomorrow my hubby will return back to school full time while on Wednesday my son will return. I have enjoyed the summer, but I am ready for the fall to begin. I don’t know about you, but it always seems as though things slow down a bunch during the summer, and I think that slowing down is good and it’s something we all need to do from time to time. However, I always get to the point where I am ready to roll again and focus on my work ahead of me.While my guys are heading back to school, I am heading into a busy work period, and I am excited and ready for it. I have been working hard for most of the year on these opportunities and this fall I need to get moving on them.

Here are some of the projects I am getting ready to roll on this fall

1)   My book launch

On September 9th, I will release my first published book, Train Your Way to Financial Fitness. It is based off of my self-published eBook that got the attention of my publisher. I am really excited about the book and sharing financial fitness with others.train your wayI think a big issue with many personal finance books is that they are too general and don’t take into account different financial personality types. My book has a quiz to help you identify your type, and then you only read the section that is based on your type, so you are getting tailored financial guidance based on your financial personality.

2)   FinCon 2014

In two weeks, I will head to New Orleans (my birthplace by the way) for FinCon, and I am really excited about attending my first conference. Every other conference I attended in the past, I was a vendor and not an attendee, so it will be nice to see how the other half lives.I started my blog around the time of last year’s FinCon, and I made it a goal then that I would attend this year, so I am excited to cross this 2014 goal off my list. If you're going, let me know!

3)   Money Saving Pro

I mentioned a few weeks ago about this website that I am working on, and I will be spending a bunch of time this fall helping it grow by working on videos and other supporting content. I love the site, and I truly believe it will be the next NerdWallet, but better.

4)   Speaking Engagements

One of the main reasons I have worked so hard on the book is that I want to grow my speaking business. I have had a number of schools and companies reach out to me about opportunities, but it really seems as though the book gives you extra credibility. Now that I have followed up and have a published book under my belt, I am getting more traction. If you want a speaker to talk to your group about financial health and planning, let me know!

5)   Television Appearances

I have had a connection with the head writer of a national morning show for many months now. I have been pitching a regular segment to this writer, and we have been trying to work something out. With my book coming out, I plan to refocus my energies and make it happen. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Are you ready to roll this fall?

I love the fall, but it means that you only have three months left to the year. If you have any goals for 2014 that you have been working on, now is your time to buckle down, focus and make them happen.I love a song to motivate me when I have a lot on my plate, and right now, this song is really putting me into the mood to get things done. If you need the motivation to get rolling on your goals, I hope this helps you too.

Have you accomplished your 2014 goals yet? What goals do you have left for the year? What motivates you to accomplish your goals when you have a lot on your plate?
